Terms of Service.

Last updated: 26 June 2026

1. Agreement

By creating a Raven account or using the service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Raven. You must be at least 16 years old, or the age of digital consent in your country, to use the service.

2. The service

Raven is an AI-assisted writing tool. It generates and edits text in response to your input. Generated output may be inaccurate or unsuitable; you are responsible for reviewing it before relying on or publishing it.

3. Your content

Input. You retain ownership of the manuscripts, prompts, and other content you submit (“Input”). You grant Raven a limited, non-exclusive licence to process your Input solely to provide the service, including sending it to the AI sub-processors that power generation and retrieval. We do not claim ownership of your work and do not use it to train models.

Output. As between you and Raven, and to the extent we hold any rights in the text the service generates in response to your Input (“Output”), we assign those rights to you upon generation, so that you own your Output subject to these Terms and to your warranties in §4. Because AI models are probabilistic and many users share the service, Output is provided on a non-exclusive basis: similar or identical Output may be generated for other users, and we make no claim that Output is original or free of third-party rights. You are responsible for reviewing Output before relying on or publishing it.

4. Your responsibilities & content warranties

Raven can be used to write derivative and fan-fiction works. You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the rights to your Input and to any use you make of your Output. You represent and warrant that:

  • your Input does not infringe any copyright, trademark, publicity, privacy, or other right of a third party, except to the extent permitted by applicable law (e.g. fair use or fair dealing);
  • you will not publish, sell, or otherwise exploit Output in a way that infringes a third party’s intellectual-property rights or violates a rights-holder’s terms; and
  • you are responsible for clearing any rights needed to commercialise works based on another creator’s characters, settings, or other protected material.

5. Acceptable use

You may not use Raven to generate unlawful content (including content that sexualises minors), to harass or defame, to infringe others’ rights, or to attempt to disrupt, probe, or reverse-engineer the service. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

6. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Raven and its operators from any third-party claim, demand, or loss (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your Input, your Output, your use of the service, or your breach of §4. This reflects that you, not Raven, control what you create and where you publish it.

7. Billing, refunds & cancellation

Paid subscription plans are sold and billed through Paddle.com, which acts as our merchant of record. Your purchase is also governed by Paddle’s Buyer Terms. Subscriptions renew automatically at the interval shown at checkout until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from your account settings or via the management link on your Paddle receipt; cancellation stops future renewals and takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Our refund and cancellation terms, including the EU/UK right of withdrawal, are set out in our Refund & Cancellation Policy.

Fair-use AI allowance. Each plan includes a monthly allowance of AI usage. The allowance is measured by our underlying third-party model and service cost (our cost of goods, “COGS”) — not by a fixed number of words, messages or requests — and is a single pooled allowance shared across all AI features (chat, revision, scene drafting, embeddings and world web-search). There is no separate per-feature quota: you may spend the pool however you like. Enforcement is a rolling 30-day pool plus a rolling 24-hour burst limit (set at 25% of the pool) to prevent runaway usage. Allowances are calibrated to our service costs so that fully consuming the pool still leaves Raven a minimum gross margin; current allowances are $8.40 of AI usage per 30 days (Writer, with a $2.10 / 24-hour limit) and $16.80 per 30 days (Author, with a $4.20 / 24-hour limit). When an allowance is reached, AI features pause until the rolling window advances or the next billing period begins; your manuscripts and existing content remain fully accessible throughout. The plans page shows an approximate translation of each allowance into typical usage. We may adjust allowances on notice under §9.

8. Disclaimer & liability

The service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the extent permitted by law, Raven is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

9. Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be notified in the app or by email, and continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
